As a charity, we bring enhanced opportunities to children and families by seeking and securing additional funding and partnering with organisations, local government and businesses across our community.
In response to the impact of the COVID pandemic on our children and families, this year we are focusing our enhanced services on promoting children’s wellbeing; enhancing children’s communication skills and social skills; and supporting parental mental health. We have secured funding to deliver:
A brilliant project to bring children and staff together to use their imaginations to create and share stories and perform them on a stage in our garden.
Generously funded by Tesco Community Grants
A new resource for our children to use to express themselves, create art and make marks: a transparent outdoor easel.
Generously funded by Canterbury City Council Councillors’ Opportunities Fund
Stretch It, Dance It, Kick It!
A fantastic programme of activities for children and families to enjoy together. External practitioners will come into the setting and deliver yoga, street dance and football sessions.
Generously funded by Kent County Council Reconnect Programme
Parenting and Communicating
An excellent resource for families, we will facilitate the Solihull Approach Understanding Your Child training for parents and carers and provide resources and spaces to encourage communication.

We also work with community partners to raise general funds for Stepping Stones.
Our annual sponsored Jingle Walk sees our children, staff and volunteers dress in bells and lights at Christmas time. This year they jingled all the way to Waitrose Canterbury, where they sang Christmas songs to raise money for Stepping Stones.
Thank you to all that donated and to Waitrose Canterbury.
Thank you to the following partners for generously funding our work last year:
