January 2018 Newsletter

Hello, and welcome back to another busy term, we hope you all had a very merry Christmas and wish you all the best for a happy and healthy 2018. We are very pleased to welcome our new families to Stepping Stones, we are sure they will be very happy.

Winter Clothing

As we will undoubtedly have lots of wet and cold weather, can you please ensure your children come to pre-school dressed in appropriate clothing; welly boots and waterproofs are ideal. We like to enjoy our garden in all weathers, and appropriate clothing enables us to do this. We do have some wet weather clothing at pre-school, so don’t worry too much if you forget!

Book Swap

We have introduced a book swap: everyday there will be a selection of children’s books on offer for you to look through with your child. Please enjoy looking through these, take them home to read, and when you have finished, bring it back to swap for another. Happy reading!

As you are aware, we were inspected by Ofsted towards the end of last term. We are very pleased to announce we were graded good in all areas. You can read the report at: https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reort/provider/CARE/127645.  This report is also available on our website: www.steppingstonescanterbury.org.uk. We also have some hard copies for you to take, should you wish.

If your child is absent for any reason, please contact us by phone or text (07980 492024). If we have not heard from you by 10am, we will phone to see if everything is ok; in such a way we are abiding by the latest safeguarding guidelines that exist to keep all children safe.

As you will have noticed, we have a new team member! We are very thrilled to welcome Erika as our very capable staff cover.

Sickness and diarrhoea

Please remember if your child suffers from sickness or diarrhoea, we require an absence of 48 hours to reduce the risk of infection.

Please do talk to your child’s key person if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. Don’t forget to sign up for the parents’ rota, we would be thrilled to have you and we know your child will love it too.  Thank you once again for your support. Finally, we are pleased to tell you that Sally will be attending the graduation ceremony for her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education on 2nd February.
