We would like to welcome all of our existing families back to Stepping Stones and hope that you had an enjoyable summer. We have lots of new children starting with us this term and we hope that they have a wonderful experience with us and that they and their families settle in happily.

Fees and Funding

Invoices for fees will be issued over the next week. If you have a funded place you will need to complete some paperwork with Denise to secure this. Any problems with any aspect of funding please see Denise or Sally Such, our Treasurer.

Summer Raffle

A BIG thank you to everyone who contributed to our Summer Raffle, we managed to raise enough money to purchase a new climbing frame and replace our existing very tired one! It should arrive within the next few weeks for the children to use.


Please make sure that your child has sun-cream applied if necessary before they come to pre-school. We can re-apply if needed but you must complete a sun-cream consent form for us to do this. We always ensure that children are wearing sunhats for outside play when sun does come out. Equally we ask that they have coats or jackets if it is cold or wet as we will always be accessing the outside area. We also ask that they wear appropriate footwear for outdoor play and activities, trainers are best please.


Just a quick reminder that your child is highly likely to get messy during their time with us, we do provide aprons but we cannot guarantee that their clothes will be spotless when you collect them so please do not send them to us in precious or special items of clothing.

Please make sure that spare clothes are all named and kept in a named bag to avoid confusion.

Car Park

Please be aware that the Car Park is only to be used for dropping off and picking up children, you cannot leave your car there for the duration of the session as it is needed by Church users. We also ask that you drive carefully for the safety of all of the children.

Food/Packed Lunches

We would like to ask parents not to come into pre-school with food for their children. We have some children with a variety of allergies, some of them quite serious so in order to protect them we ask you to be understanding. If your child comes with a packed lunch or food in their bag please let us know so that we can store them safely during pre-school hours.


As many of you know, Claire Bridger has now joined our team as a permanent member of staff and Key Person for the yellow group. Claire’s three children all came to Stepping Stones and she has also been a previous Committee Secretary. Claire worked with us for a year as a practitioner and she now begins her formal Level 3 training. We welcome her and wish her every happiness and success with us.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM will be held next month, details of the date and time will be issued soon and all parents shall be invited to attend and find out how Stepping Stones is run. We will be looking for a new Chairman as Paul, our existing Chairman is stepping down after many years of wonderful service. We are also looking to replace Jo, our Secretary as her son has now left us and moved on to “big school”. If you are interested in either of these post or would like to join the Committee please speak to Denise or Paul.
