February 2019 Newsletter
We hope you all had a lovely half term break and are looking forward to some more fun and learning; with maybe a little less mud! On the subject of mud, please do ensure your child has named indoor shoes and named wellington boots, this aids us enormously in containing the mud.
We are planning to hold another gardening day in the Easter holiday after the success of last year. We hope to clear some mess and plant some herbs, flowers and vegetables; we will confirm a date soon. If anyone has any plants or flowers they wish to donate, we can assure you they will be gratefully received. There will also be cake! We would love to see some older faces, so if anyone is in contact with ex Stepping Stoners, please do let them know.
We will be holding our Easter Fair on Tuesday 2nd April. Please do make an Easter bonnet with your child at home so they can join in our Easter bonnet parade. There will be an Easter egg tombola and we would be very grateful for any donations towards this. There will be other attractions to tempt your fancy; face painting, cake stalls etc. The fair will be after the Tuesday session, from 12 until 2-30, all children and families are welcome. Please bring a picnic to enjoy with your child, all children will need accompanying by an adult.
We are incredibly grateful to Christine Ritchie, Dominic’s Grandma, who has made us some beautiful drawstring bags. We have attached the children’s names and photographs to these. These bags are to be left at Stepping Stones for your children to put in any items that they may bring in with them; hopefully we can keep their precious things safe! These bags also contain notepads for you to write any comments or suggestions.
We are very fortunate to have applied for, and been awarded, a grant from Canterbury City Council to increase children’s and adult’s participation in physical activity. We are in the process of designing sport bags that will contain equipment and challenges for you to complete. The bags will also include a GoPro so you can record your adventures!
Please also remember to sign up for the parents’ rota and to speak with your child’s key person, should you have any questions or suggestions.
Thank you, The Stepping Stones Team.
