January 2019 Newsletter.
Welcome to another busy term, we would like to start by wishing you all a very Happy New Year and we hope you are all rested and enjoyed the break.
As ever, a quick reminder about appropriate clothing. The children will be outside and it will be muddy. Please ensure your child is dressed in warm, waterproof clothing, ready to engage and explore our great outdoors. We would welcome donations of spare wellington boots; should anyone have any.
Don’t forget about the book swap; books are available daily for you to select and enjoy with your child at home. Please remember to return any you may have forgotten about so others can enjoy them too.
You may have noticed that the children’s folders containing their learning journeys are out every day next to the registration tree. Please do look at these as often as you wish, we add to them frequently and welcome your comments. You are free to take them home as often as you wish but please let your child’s key-person know.
We are sharing the advice regarding absences again:
If your child is absent for any reason, please contact us by phone or text (07980 492024). If we have not heard from you by 10am, we will phone to see if everything is ok; in such a way we are abiding by the latest safeguarding guidelines that exist to keep all children safe.
If your child is due to start school in September 2019 (date of birth between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015) you will need to have completed your school application by the 15th January 2019. You can find all the information you need at https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/school-places/primary-school-places#tab-2
Comments and Suggestions.
Do not forget: there is a comments and suggestions section to our notice board, here you will be able to, anonymously, if you wish, comment on any aspect of Stepping Stones. We look forward to reading your comments.
Please remember the parent rota; we would love you to come and spend the morning with us and we know your children really relish the opportunity to show you what they are doing and how they learn
As ever; please do talk to your child’s key person if you have any questions, concerns or suggestions. Also, please remember to leave your phone in your pocket when you pick up, your children want to see you and they are more important than any screen!
Thank you, The Stepping Stones Team.
