November newsletter

 Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held last month and a new committee elected. Their names will be on the notice board should you wish to contact them. Thank you to everyone who attended and a special thank you to our new parents who have joined the committee.

 School Places

For those children who will be going into “big school” next September, the online application is now open. I am sure that parents are looking at schools and I would advise that once you have made your decision you get your application in before Christmas. If you need any help with this then please see Denise.

 Weather

Please make sure that your child has suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor play as we do go outside every day, in all types of weather. Labels in coats and bags would also be useful.

 January Register

The register for January is now being compiled, if you wish to take up additional days then please speak to Denise as soon as possible as places are very limited.

Also, if you have any siblings that you would like to register for the future that should also be done as soon as possible as we are almost full for September 2016 – July 2017.

 Christmas Events

Details of our Christmas events are attached but the important dates are:

Wednesday 16th December – Carol Concert

                                    Friday 18th December – Children’s Christmas party

 Christmas Raffle

Our raffle tickets will go on sale next week, we sell them for £5 each and hope that you will be able to support our fund-raising. We already have some lovely prizes for the children and the grown-ups! We always have a Christmas Hamper as a prize so if you would like to donate something towards that there will be a box on the table at the front of the Hall. Thank you.

 The Big Give

Some parents have been asking about our charitable status and just as a reminder we are a non-profit making charity. All of our fund-raising goes towards resources for the children. We had a mammoth fund-raising task over the last few years to finance our outdoor canopy and now we need to replace some of our more neglected toys and resources. You can donate to Stepping Stones on “The Big Give” website and this means if you are a tax payer we receive an extra amount from the government.
You can donate online to us (www.thebiggive.org.uk) just scroll down and search for Stepping Stones Pre-School Canterbury.
